A sanitation specialist maintains the cleanliness of sanitation equipment and facilities. You perform various cleaning and sanitation tasks with little supervision, including scrubbing walls, floors, lighting, door handles, elevator buttons, and/or HVAC units. You may also use automated cleaning equipment like wet washing machines or vacuums to remove dirt. Sanitation specialists clean dirty office areas, hallways, bathrooms, and employee break rooms or lunch areas.


Always active, this position cleans and disinfects all surfaces in patient rooms and/or public areas. Given the number of germs in a medical facility, an sanitation specialist position is the front line employee, ensuring a safe environment for patients, visitors and medical personnel. An sanitation specialist hospital employee is regularly in contact with a wide variety of constituents. Delivering effective customer service is an important duty of this job.



  • Clean and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surface, and trim, light switches, door frame, etc.
  • Clean Rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restroom, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker room, stairwells and other work areas
  • Sweep and Mop floors
  • Vacuum rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • Dust furniture and equipment. High and Low dusting. Polish metalwork
  • Wash walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Wash windows, door panels, and sills
  • Empties wastebaskets, and empties and clean ashtrays.
  • Carry cleaning supplies to the area that is going to be clean
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies
  • Detailing
  • Task list must be completed daily
  • Performs such other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor


  • Must be able to lift 40-50 Lbs
  • Must be able to walk and stand for a long period of time
  • Must be able to use high ladders


Dress Code

  • T-shirt provided
  • Black pants(no jeans or yoga pants)
  • Black Tennis shoes (no open toe shoes)

Intec will train the employee on the proper guidelines, procedures and proper use of chemicals and equipment during initial training and on an ongoing basis. Employees are expected to follow these guidelines and procedures as outlined.
